The village of Tarbert draws visitors from far and wide and is renowned for its famous Castle associated with Robert the Bruce that overlooks the clear harbour waters. Tarbert is also famous for its fine seafood and fantastic annual events and festivals, include the Scottish Series Yacht Race, Tarbert Seafood Festival and the Tarbert Music Festival

At the very north tip of Kintyre, Tarbert gives you superb access to all the ferry points across Kintyre that travel to Gigha, Arran, Islay and Portavadie. It also gives you excellent access to locations of interest around Kilberry, the Mull of Kintyre and the main road in the other direction to Oban, and further on to Fort William.

If you enjoy a round of golf Tarbert is a great place to stay. The village itself has a 9-Hole Course, as does Lochgilphead 10 miles to the north. If you need a greater challenge Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club, one of the top-rated courses in the country is located 35 miles to the south of the Tarbert.

A rich culture of tradition and history runs deep through the area with plenty to see. During the summer months the PS Waverley calls weekly into Tarbert giving travelers an opportunity to steam up Loch Fyne. You could try your hand at sailing, your patience at fishing, or your stamina at hiking on and around the Kintyre Way. It’s a great place to stay.
